Applicants must meet the following:

• Two years of classroom teaching experience

Admission Requirements

Unconditional Admission

• Current GRE score of 500 on quantitative, 500 on verbal and 4.0 on written sections of the GRE. 2 of 3 GRE scores must meet minimum requirement. Students may complete up to six graduate hours without GRE scores.
• 3.0 GPA during the last 60 hours of undergraduate coursework and a 3.0 average on all graduate work
• 3 recommendations on file

• Personal statement: 200-300 words detailing desire for M.Ed in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies

Probationary Admission

Applicants who do not meet two out of the three minimum scores listed above for the GRE sections or have a GPA less than 3.0 will be considered for probationary admission on the basis of the following:

• 3.5 overall GPA during first 12 hours (4 courses)
• Professionally relevant experience
• Writing sample evaluated by the COEd Graduate Studies Committee.

Terms of Probation upon Acceptance: All students admitted under probation status will be required to earn a 3.5 GPA during the first 12 hours of graduate coursework in the program, with no grade lower than a "B."

Student Requirements

After being admitted and after completing any probationary period, students must meet the following:

• Maintain a GPA of 3.0 or above in order to continue in this graduate program.
• All pre graduation requirements should be completed before registering in the capstone course.
